Description of Department
The Department of Education was founded on 8 June 2019 as part of a Constitutional Reform. The primary function of the Department is to develop educational infrastructure and institutions within the Empire of Lehmark, this was to be done via including the Imperial University.
In addition to managing the operations of the University, the Department is also responsible for the Empire's Educational Policy and providing education related legislative suggestions as well as Education Reform suggestions to the Emperor and Autocrat.
The Imperial University of Lehmark was officially opened on 14 August 2019 and begun offering Degrees in Imperial Law of Lehmark. Later that month the University was able to offer Degrees in Human Rights of Lehmark.
Since its founding the Department of Education has lead the way for many changes within the University, including now the acceptance of the Imperial Florin as a payment option, thus opening educational opportunity even further. This also has the secondary bonus of providing another service in which the Imperial Florin is accepted as a payment option.

Current Education Policy
As at 19 March 2020
By the end of 2023 the University will also offer a Lehmark History Degree, Lehmark Philosophy Degree and a Course on the Emperor and Autocrat of Lehmark.
For the remain of 2020 the Imperial University will continue the development of its current programs and Degrees. By the end of 2020 it is hoped that the Degrees will not only have doubled in size, but also provide more quality legal education.
The University also has the goal of producing at least 1 graduate by the end of 2020. This graduate will almost have guaranteed employment within the Imperial Government. The Emperor and Autocrat will appoint her or him to a position.
The Imperial University of Lehmark was founded on 14 August 2019 via Imperial Decree published by His Imperial Majesty William the first, Emperor and Autocrat of Lehmark and was done so in accordance with Basic Right 17 - The Right to Access Basic Services.
Legal Studies are the main education currently provided, and this will ensure that Lehmark has a cadre of well educated lawyers, magistrates' and professionals which can serve the Empire and the Imperial Government.

Imperial Law of Lehmark
Human Rights of Lehmark
The University also boasts a well equipped library, which provides students with with a full version of most written documents of the Empire. The Library ensures that every student has more than enough resources to complete their studies and excel in what they have set out to do.
Memorandum on National Development
Individualised Development Plans for Departments and Agencies, were introduced by Memorandum on 11 November 2020.
In Lehmark, Ministers and Agency Leaders have a duty to undertake necessary works that contribute towards the progression and development of Lehmark as a micronation. The Memorandum on National Development, provides directives for Ministers and Agency Leaders so they can satisfy that duty.
Each Minister and Agency Leader is only expected to meet their individualised Development Plan.
